Dear Mr Jones....

“Christmas is coming!

the gritters are out at last!

highways out patch resurfacing?

well that’s enough of that!”

Yes it might be pantomime time again and you might need to rub the lamps on the St Michael's junction to hope they come on after years - but yes I think I have lost the plot somewhere.

Yes, the highways have finally got around to filling a hole next to the gully head which I reported eons ago needing attention - in case someone or vehicle - even the refuse truck might drop down into the drain.

Not to say we should not be thankful for small efforts but I must ask are you sending out untrained or unaccompanied staff to rectify faults - or don’t the highways care about the public's safety?

Yes, they have attempted to fill the hole by the looks of it - but with small grade black top which obviously will just fall through the hole into the drain unless you pack the hole first to stop ingress.

This wasted bitumen could have been used to fill in the rut created by the council or their contractors when the small hole was filled in(as per my previous reports to yourself).

Incidentally, is there no “headway” with this repair being repaired correctly?

Please be aware there is a risk of someone falling and possibly breaking a hip etc.
