MANY high schools in Cheshire East are performing at a much lower level than that of the best school in Cheshire East.
The pupils at King’s School, in Macclesfield, in 2014 achieved results that were twice as good as Sir William Stanier, Kings Grove and Ruskin High, in Crewe, the Macclesfield Academy, the Beech Hall School, in Macclesfield, and the Middlewich High School.
The pupils at King’s School are not twice as clever as the pupils in these other schools. Many of these schools have been under-performing for years and it is about time the schools, Cheshire East Council and the government took action.
Our young people have only one chance to make the most of their potential so action is required to ensure that all pupils are enabled to make the most of their talents, regardless of if they are in a state school or a fee paying one.
