IN recent weeks, many of you will have heard, read, or seen a number of worrying stories about the conduct of certain charitable organisations, from sharing or selling of supporters’ confidential personal data, to employing aggressive fundraising tactics and pressurising supporters to increase donations.
As a local charity with strong roots at the heart of our community, we are hugely reliant upon the ongoing trust of our donors and fundraisers, which is why we would like to reassure each and every one of our valued supporters that St Luke’s does not – and never will – resort to such underhand behaviour.
We totally condemn these tactics.
For the avoidance of any doubt – we do not sell or share our supporters’ information with third parties, buy in data from external sources, use ‘chuggers’ or other aggressive fundraising tactics, or pressurise any of our supporters to donate more than they wish to.
We need to raise £8,600 a day to provide the vital services and care that we do, something that wouldn’t be possible without the phenomenal ongoing support we receive from right across our local community.
Thank you for that continued support.
