I TRIED to park in that Co-op the other day and could not find a space to park. Eventually someone pulled out and went so I could park.
I went and did my shopping in the Co-op and there was hardly anyone in it.
So all those people parked in the car park certainly were not spending money in there.
If people are going to abuse the Co-op car park then you can’t really blame Co-op for charging.
And if you read the article it is saying one of the options is to allow 90 mins free parking before charging.
That sounds fair enough.
If you are a genuine customer of Co-op then 90 minutes will be plenty.
If you want to park longer than that and go elsewhere, why should Co-op lose genuine customers because they are unable to park?
