“CUTS devastate real people “ says Councillor Burns.

I agree.

Would these be latest cuts in public finances presented by Chancellor George Osborne to parliament just a few weeks ago, which Andy Burnham, Harriet Harman, all of her Shadow Labour cabinet and most of the Labour MPs declined to oppose?

There were some MP’s who voted against this latest tranche of cuts.

There was Tim Farron, leader of the Liberal Democrats, all the other Lib Dem MPs and the SNP MPs.

Perhaps Cllr Burns will tell us how the Labour MPs, both for Chester and for Ellesmere Port voted on this occasion?

Did they vote against the latest cuts or did they also abstain?

Perhaps Cllr Burns will also tell us why he is in favour of withdrawing £426,000 of funding, hitting the most needy and elderly who rely on the “lifeline” service and who cannot afford £5.40 per week out of their pensions to stay on this vital service?

I am grateful to Cllr Burns for reminding voters of the important part the Liberal Democrats played in the last government and Lib Dem policies such as free school meals, the huge increase in personal tax allowance, the pupil premium, from which Winsford schools were granted hundreds of thousands of pounds and not forgetting the decent state pension.

We were able to achieve these by being in government and which people remember, when they vote in by-elections, as they did in Wharton just a few weeks ago, giving the Lib Dems a memorable victory.
