I AM reluctant to respond to Don Micklewright’s letter about the EU and am only doing so because to not do so might imply some sort of acceptance. We can argue the merits of what constitutes evidence until the cows come home without anyone being any the wiser.

I stick to my previous comments and would add that personal attacks do not help to further the discussion.

I agree with him that eventually the electorate will decide and would hope this will be at the end of a constructive discussion.

I also agree that destroying is easier than building and would point out that constructing the EU has been over 30 years in the making and is far from complete.

Certainly, the EU faces many challenges and I look forward to seeing how it evolves over the coming years as it responds to changing circumstances.
