THERE was an article in the Guardian on February 4 which stated that the speed limit on a dangerous road in Weaverham was to be reduced in April 2015. I would like to point out that the speed limit has still not reduced.

I live on this road and in the 18 months I have been here I have witnessed six accidents. I have written to the council and surprise surprise, no response.

The speed limit was due to reduce in September 2014, it was pushed back to April 2015, and then pushed back to August 2015. Is this for financial reasons?

I firmly believe that this will never happen. How much is a life worth? It is only a matter of time before someone is killed on this road, and then it is too late. Are our lives less valuable than the residents at either end of the road where the speed limits are 30 and 40mph?

I think it’s a disgrace that this has still not been done, surely the funding must have been set aside in both 2014 and 2015?

Surely it can’t be that expensive to change a few road signs?

The council is a waste of time.
