CHESHIRE East Council look set to continue with the waste transfer site on Cledford Lane/Booth Lane.

I seem to recall council leader Michael Jones shouting the odds for HS2. If CEC are serious about congestion/pollution, especially in the Middlewich area, if they sited a waste transfer site in a suitable spot adjacent to a railway line, they could cut any extra traffic by up to 50 per cent by creating a rail head at any site.

Even if this was only at the former Murgatroyds site on Booth Lane to take away recycled waste.

I hear that where the Mercury Cell room used to be, is earmarked for housing and waste transfer sites.

If this is impractical then how about empty warehouses or land at Crewe, by the Marshalling Yards which might be near the HS2 line?
