I GOT a call from my Dad on Saturday afternoon asking me to go to my Mum’s assistance at Asda in Winsford, as her electric wheelchair had a flat tyre.

When I got down there several people had attempted to come to her assistance prior to my arrival; particularly Andy from the pet stall on the market who had first noticed Mum had a problem.

He very kindly asked the other stall holders if any of them had a foot pump to re-inflate the tyre.

When none of them did, he kindly went with my Mum to Asda, where Gerry the security guard kindly tried to re-inflate the tyre, to no avail.

Several other people also stopped to check my Mum was ok too and I’d like to express my thanks to everyone who tried to help.

The tyre was punctured but I was able to get my Mum and her wheelchair home in my Dad’s car. I’m delighted that the good people of Winsford did all they could to help my stricken disabled Mum.
