I MAKE no secret of the fact that I am an anti-incineration campaigner. I know that many share my views.
Many new houses are being built in Lostock and Rudheath and I was angry to find out many potential buyers had no idea TATA Imperial Chemicals was granted permission to build a 600,000-tonne waste incinerator not a stone’s throw away from these developments. I would assume solicitors acting on behalf of potential buyers would discover and disclose this when undertaking a search on behalf of their clients, but I don’t know if the onus would be on them to do that. Perhaps someone knows the answer to this question?
Surely it would be so much better for purchasers to be made aware of these facts from the outset?
We would expect nothing less than openness and transparency from CWAC and TATA in all their dealings over the future plans for the waste incinerator, and for that information to be in the public domain and the opportunity to make an informed decision is yours.
The choice to buy a house or not is yours and that is how it should be.
