MY DAD, Royston Clarke, worked at Lion Salt Works all his life.
He was a foreman there working on the pan.
Henry Thompson was at the helm when I worked there for a couple of years in the packing department.
It was a small workforce but very hard work and very hot.
We lived in Rudheath and my dad would bike there every day, work a long day and pedal home.
