NOW that Cheshire West and Chester Council will be run by a new set of councillors, Labour not Tory, I hope it will prevent the closure of the Moss Farm swimming pool and gym so that it can continue to be used by schools and local residents including newcomers to the 1,000 new homes being built at Hartford and Winnington Village.
This will reduce traffic congestion with associated air pollution in the town to which young children are especially vulnerable.
The prospect of numerous coachloads of children being (diesel) bussed into the new town centre Lifestyle Centre for their swimming lessons, is highly undesirable but is avoidable if Moss farm is kept open.
