THE biggest shock from last week's elections was the people who live in the Cheshire West and Chester Council area voting the ruling Conservative party out of office with Labour getting an overall majority, albeit a very slender one.
I don't have a party-political axe to grind but I don't think the people of the former Vale Royal Council have been terribly well served since CWAC came into being.
If I have just one wish for the new council leaders, I would love them to be more inclusive of places such as Northwich and Winsford and they can make a statement of intent by changing the council's name to either Cheshire West or West Cheshire.
I don't care which one so long as they drop Chester from the title.
