WE READ with interest the article about the deadline for comments on appeals to Town Farm Quarry in Norley, Guardian, April 8.

We live on the B5153 in one of the villages plagued by convoys of heavily laden lorries on the way to the quarry. This nuisance has become noticeably worse.

Since October 2014, the convoys have stopped. We are unclear as to why but our lives have returned to normal.

Our home is no longer covered in dust and the windows rattled on a regular basis.

Nor have we been subject to the vibrations and noise as the tipper trucks speed up the hill.

If major restoration work resumes, are we to return to the daily convoys of tipper trucks carrying spoil past our gate?

Are the children in the playground at Crowton school to be exposed to diesel fumes and dust as the tipper trucks thunder up the hill past them?

We urge readers who share these concerns to e-mail stopthetip@btinternet.com There are serious problems ahead if these appeals go through. There is little time left for appeals so please e-mail to find out how to send your worries about the impact on your life to the planning inspectorate in Bristol.
