THERE'S no doubt that our council gives us good value for money. Their new advert for the opening of the £12.5m Lifestyle Centre in May lists "two swimming pools with water" in its attractions.
This water also includes lanes, though only six rather than the eight requested, but at least the pool’s got water, without which swimming would have been a problem.
Personally I prefer the letter in the same issue headed "Councillors should listen’ by Joe Reacher which probably represents the views of most people when he says ‘this is a building nobody likes, nobody asked for, wasn’t needed and looks entirely out of place".
It needn’t have been like this with proper consultation and hopefully a lesson has been learnt.
