IN Response to Raine Alexander’s letter regarding the rag and bone men.
There is no need for the use of loud speakers to advertise their business.
Any reputable company would mail flyers through people’s doors advertising a collection date/time.
None of the scrap metal collecting vans have company logos either.
Cheshire West and Chester Council clearly state that the use of loud speakers by scrap metal collectors is in contravention of their licensing terms.
The council really needs to crack down on these rag and bone men as they cause a nuisance for those who work night shifts.
Also does Barnton really produce that much scrap metal that these rag and bone men need to come every day including Sundays?
I think not.
These rag and bone men are not providing a recycling service, they are cashing in on your scrap metal, at the expense of everyone who wants a quiet life.
