IN THE January 21 issue of the Guardian, Cllr Burns claims that on the vote to accept the neighbourhood plan for Winsford, held on April 15, 2013, one Lib Dem councillor abstained the other voted against the plan.
The facts are as follows – Lib Dem Cllr Ailsa Gaskill-Jones was not at the meeting as she was on a late shift at Wythenshawe hospital maternity ward.
Lib Dem Cllr Charlie Parkinson, having just been returned to the council following a by-election win, abstained on the grounds he did not have enough information to arrive a conclusion.
So one Lib Dem did not vote.
One Lib Dem abstained.
No Lib Dem voted against the plan.
Malcolm Gaskill Chairman Winsford Liberal Democrats
