AFTER the recent planning refusal of 240 houses on Ways Green in Winsford because of the Winsford Neighbourhood Plan, I was asked about who supported the plan.
When the Winsford Neighbourhood Plan came before the Town Council, the vote was as follows: All Labour Councillors voted for; the one Conservative voted for; of the two Lib Dems one abstained and the other voted against.
Local Lib Dems then put out a leaflet calling the 'Labour's crazy plan to build all over the Flashes'.
Now Ways Green has been saved from 240 New homes, perhaps residents will be able to see those councillors who stuck to their guns in realising that only planning legislation in the form of the Winsford Neighbourhood Plan can protect the flashes.
Councillor Stephen Burns Winsford Swanlow and Dene Ward
