I WROTE a letter to David Cameron and this is the content. I am yet to receive a reply: I live in Weaverham, Northwich in Cheshire. Most of our hospital tests have to be done at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, about 15 miles from Northwich, which tries its very best for us with a limited budget. I have no complaints.

However, we have a Cottage Hospital in the centre of Northwich, which I think has enormous potential. Victoria Infirmary's services are second to none, but are not as extensive as Leighton.

There are empty wards crying out to be used and land around to be built on.

A new village, Winnington, with hundreds of new houses two miles away, is nearing completion.

It wouldn’t be like building new from scratch, and would take the pressure off Leighton.

With the election looming you would receive Brownie points even for looking at the possibilities of such a plan. Please do.
