I WOULD like to draw Guardian readers’ attention to a new £15 million fund available to repair the roofs and guttering of places of worship, including churches, mosques and synagogues, in Congleton constituency.
I know communities in the Middlewich area have already worked hard to raise funds for this purpose and hope this scheme will make it a little easier.
Grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 are available to listed places of worship in the UK where repairs are deemed necessary.
Places of worship play a huge part in many people’s lives in Middlewich and this fund will help ensure some of our most significant buildings remain open, safe and welcoming.
Applications for a grant must be made by January 30. Visit nhmf.org.uk.
