CONGRATULATIONS to Clr Brian Clarke and town clerk Alan Warburton on completing Winsford's neighbourhood plan and winning a top national award for their achievement. Thanks also to the many other people who were involved in the process.
The plan has been accepted by Cheshire West and Chester Council which has already used it to amend a major local plan. Early signs are encouraging but we will have to wait and see what the future holds.
A major concern for many local people is the future of the flashes. The neighbourhood plan is an important document in safeguarding the flashes.
They are safer with the plan than without it and we are confident that they will be an important local feature for many years to come.
The plan is the best way forward and will be used to assist local councils in their planning decision.
