I AM furious about the mindless vandalism in the children’s park at Leaf Lane, Guardian, October 22.

This park was a favourite play area for my grandchildren and now, thanks to some brainless, moronic, selfish teenagers, they cannot enjoy this facility anymore.

I have lost count of the number of times I have walked past and seen at least ten teenagers swinging on the baby swings and littering the place with drink cans.

These facilities should be locked at night so that they are not a magnet for unsocial behaviour.

Now to the so-called neighbourhood plan.

Three thousand five hundred homes to be built in a town that has no shopping centre to speak of, absolutely no leisure facilities to occupy the minds of these teenagers that are walking the streets just looking for their next area to vandalise for amusement, and no jobs for the people who are supposed to buy the houses.

Just when is Cheshire west and Chester Council going to wake up to the fact that unless they do something about the facilities in Northwich no amount of housing is going to enhance the quality of life in this town. At the moment the best thing about it is the road out!
