IT IS nonsense to say the Neighbourhood Plan will destroy the Flashes.
The reality is that the NP sets strict policies about the amount and location of public open space that must be provided as part of any development – building right down to the water’s edge will not be allowed.
In fact, the NP creates green public open space for the benefit of everyone around the Flashes and will mean that this beautiful area will become more accessible, and can become a real focal point for the town.
With the WNP, Rilshaw Meadows is protected and other areas of green field around the Flash is protected.
Without the WNP, this land is up for grabs, and be in no doubt the developers will grab it.
The fact that developers object to the WNP should give the "ban the plan" supporters a clue as to what developers want to do.
Winsford needs and deserves the protection that will be provided by the NP.
That is why a Yes vote on October 23 is so important.
