I WAS amazed to read the information put forward by the Rilshaw Lane “Ban the Plan” residents, Guardian, October 1.

They say that the 3,500 houses coming to Winsford are due to the neighbourhood plan (NP), however Winsford has to have 3,500 new-builds by 2030 as its share of the CWAC local plan, which in turn is driven by the Government.

The only piece of planning legislation that can stop 240 homes being built on Ways Green is the WNP.

Rilshaw Lane residents will condemn Ways Green residents to 240 new homes if the NP is rejected.

Rilshaw Meadows is protected under the NP. Without the NP, Rilshaw Meadows and all the areas around the Flashes protected by the NP will be exploited by developers.

Developers have already tried to stop the NP with legal challenges; the “Ban the Plan” group is actually playing right into the hands of developers.

The Rilshaw Lane Ban the Plan group seem to think that if the NP is rejected then they will escape development in Rilshaw.

They are wrong; in fact, development without a NP will be all over Rilshaw, Ways Green and every bit of the Flashes.
