I AM writing regarding the Neighbourhood Plan.

Of course we would all like to see a prosperous Winsford, with a revamped shopping centre full of high quality shops, 100 per cent employment in a strong industrial and commercial environment, and an elegant bistro style riverside leisure and entertainment culture.

However, I cannot see how an extra 3,000-5,000 people inhabiting the present Winsford will help to achieve this.

The council say that they received the sum of £21,000 to use for the greater good from the building of the last 2,000 houses.

If the ratio remains the same, we can expect £30-50k for Winsford to spend on its improvements.

How far will this go towards sorting the already congested road system and updating essential services?

Does anyone believe that Winsford will be improved by increasing the population by 25 per cent?

Perhaps if the road links to the motorway could be improved, Winsford could attract more industry, which would provide more jobs and then we might require more houses.

We need a plan for the future, but not one that endangers our rich and varied wildlife or destroys our high-grade agricultural land which could surely be put to better use than housing.
