THE new plans for building houses around the Winsford Flashes take no account of the Neighbourhood Plan.

In the 1960s developers built all the current estates surrounding the town, promising the new residents that there would be recreational, leisure and shopping facilities, but we are still waiting for these to arrive.

Is this to be the same scenario?

Are the houses to come first, followed only by broken promises?

True they built the town centre, but this is now neglected.

The council appear to have no money of their own, so where are the funds for improving the shops to come from?

I would suggest that the whole town centre is a brown field site ready for redevelopment.

No mention has been made of improving roads to the motorway, already it takes long queuing time to reach it.

How much longer will it take to reach it when all of these new houses have been built? Likewise, there is no mention of increasing the number of doctors’ surgeries.

What about the facilities at local hospitals and schools?

The land in this area has been notoriously unstable and historically prone to subsidence.

Since it is also pretty countryside, widely used by the public, buzzing with wildlife, surely it would be better to preserve it for future generations to enjoy?
