REGARDING the proposed development of 243 homes by the Bellway Group.

I have a number of concerns regarding this proposal as follows.

The one street not included in the initial leaflet drop was Ways Green, the street most affected by the proposal.

The aerial shot used in the leaflet and on the website is strange in composition, certainly outdated, and conveniently does not show either of the last two developments already in place along Ways Green namely Mere Court, and the new Persimmon/Anwyl estate.

Between them they already have more than 100 additional houses replacing three detached houses and one bungalow.

Is this not misleading?

In addition the 10 new terraced houses along Ways Green itself after the junction with Gladstone Street has created traffic problems as you turn from Gladstone Street left into Ways Green and vice versa; the proposal sites the entrance just past my property on a blind bend where the width of the road is 5.2m.

It takes no account of the electricity pole which takes power down to Lakeside Caravan Park which starts at the point of the proposed new way in and continues down the field.

The width of the road along Ways Green to the top of Stocks Hill is just 5m in places and cannot accommodate the construction traffic, never mind the additional 250 cars which will be using it daily.

Ways Green leads nowhere, therefore all of the traffic from this development will be forced to use the already chaotic junction with Gladstone Street.

What value are they adding to the area by building so many houses in such a beautiful area?

Their plans are ill conceived and have been put together with no consultation to those most affected.

When my bungalow was built in 1990, the council specified that it had to be constructed on top of a concrete raft due to the geological fault caused by the workings of Winsford Salt Mine.

Will this development be subject to the same building regulations?

How can ‘approximately 30 per cent of the homes will be affordable and managed by a local housing association’ add value to an enduringly popular part of town?

Why is the council even considering this disgraceful, illconceived and inappropriate proposal?

I have made my comments on the Bellway Homes website but do not think they will be taken into consideration!
