WE note with amazement and dismay the Bellway proposals for Ways Green, Guardian, July 23.

If they are carried out in full Ways Green will have little or no greenery left for residents to enjoy.

The Flashes area is well known with anglers who come from many miles around to enjoy their sport.

It is also a wonderful sanctuary for all forms of wildlife.

Destroy their habitat and the wildlife will be gone forever.

Ways Green has been subjected to years of building developments and more than 100 additional houses have been constructed over the past few years.

The roads in the area are hardly able to cope with the present traffic.

Add another 243 homes and approximately another 500 vehicles will be using these already congested roads.

We do not see how, to quote the Bellway spokesman ‘the development will add value to neighbouring houses and enhance what is an enduringly popular part of the town’.

This is a total contradiction and makes no sense at all.
