I WOULD like to thank the 525 constituents of the Winnington and Castle Ward who voted for me in last Thursday’s by-election and all those involved in securing a hard fought victory.
Between now and the fresh elections in May next year I will do all I can to represent the concerns and tackle local issues often determined by the delivery of services from the Cheshire West and Chester council.
What was clear during the campaign is the worrying disconnect between the public and politics and this was clearly demonstrated in the 19.2 per cent turnout.
National politics are important but should not overshadow what CWAC delivers locally and I intend to focus on the decisions that impact on what happens to our town centre, our roads, social care provision and sporting facilities.
I will do all I can to improve the damaged relationship and restore a little trust between the public and politicians and will represent all the residents of Winnington and Castle.
