Congratulations to Damon Horrill and his team for a fantastic weekend of entertainment in Winsford.

The weekend began on Friday with Elvis impersonator Paul Larcombe who, with his six-piece band and two backing singers, gave both accurate musical renditions and humorous banter to get the party started.

The evening was completed with the party mood continuing with tribute band 70s Forever performing at De Bees.

Saturday saw a different crowd with a family day supplying plenty of action for the children including a funfair, face painting, circus skills and a stage for many youngsters to experience performing in public.

The main stage was overflowing with talent peaking with Milly Pye taking the accolades.

The performances ended in to the evening with the multi-talented and musically gifted combination of Trish, Krystal, Meg and Galty performing to a very appreciative audience.

Away from main stage Adrian West and Jonny Tristram kept the musical talent tap flowing.

Sunday again gave a different crowd with a showcase for the next generation of locally produced bands.

It was great to see so many youngsters in the audience enjoying the high energy atmosphere created by the bands (and thanks for slipping in a Black Sabbath song for us oldies).

The weekend ended with at De Bees with a packed out Kevin Dewsbury’s Sunday Spotlight Special. Great to see so many people turning out to support live comedy and the comedians Karen Bayley, Adam Staunton, Liam Pickford and Allyson Smith enhanced the growing reputation of the regular Sunday night show.

In conclusion, more of the same next year please Damon; and looking forward to the Winsford Off-Cut Folk and Ale Festival in August.
