Overseas aid is not the answer

Overseas aid is not the answer

First published in Letters

THE Tory-LibDem coalition Government recently made big news about providing £19m to local authorities to deal with the massive number of pot holes in our crumbling roads…£19m?

As many of you who travel on business or pleasure will be acutely aware, our ‘A’ road system is collapsing with tremendous pressure on our infrastructure.

The M6 is falling apart and so substandard now that it borders on dangerous in places. But this Government continues to borrow £130bn per annum, as part of our now growing again fiscal deficit, to give away in overseas aid..? Does that sound logical to you?

It seems that whatever the coalition does to improve things it gets criticised everyone seems to forget what a mess this country was in. The last Labour Government spent up the countries credit card and the coalition are trying to repay that debt I was not in favour of the coalition initially but we have stopped the extremists on the right and if there is to be another coalition maybe with Labour next time we will stop the extremist on the left taking over. coalition is beginning to work in my opinion Labour seem to suffer from the top to the bottom with the same disease SELECTIVE AMNESIA they forget what they did in 13 years cannot be turned around in 4 years people are starting to realise UKIP are a one policy party who can promise anything because they know they will never have to deliver in the real world ,as a Lib Dem I am proud of what we have delivered with the economic constraints we inherited by no means perfect but at least we are trying !!
