Our 'A' road system is collapsing

Northwich Guardian: Our 'A' road system is collapsing Our 'A' road system is collapsing

The Tory-LibDem coalition Government recently made big news about providing £19m to local authorities to deal with the massive number of pot holes in our crumbling roads…! £19m?

As many of you who travel on business or pleasure will be acutely aware, our ‘A’ road system is collapsing with tremendous pressure on our infrastructure. The M6 motorway is falling apart and so substandard now that it borders on dangerous in places.

But this Government continues to BORROW £130bn pa, as part of our now growing again fiscal deficit, to give away in overseas aid?

Does that sound logical to you?

The reason why our roads and other services are so underfunded is that greedy MPs have taken our taxes and spent it on luxury items like TV receivers and wirelesses for themselves.

Many MPs have more than one house and they manage to buy items for the second one out of out tax money.

One MP put in a claim for £500 just to buy plates and cups for a second home, scandalous is what I say.

The items purchased in this manner should be handed out to the poor who have very little.

A stitch in time saves nine.

Its better to use high quality materials and do a smashing job with pride than to do what we always do.

In the long run it will be better and cheaper to all interested parties (ie the road users and tax payers).
