REGARDING the yellow lines outside Foodcraft and the school in Winsford. I think the current situation should remain.
Near to a school, a shop, houses without front gardens and people emerging from an underpass; vehicles need to slow down, drivers have to look around them rather than solely concentrating on how soon they can reach the traffic lights ahead.
Without these ‘obstacles’, traffic will travel as fast as possible to reach the traffic lights, drivers’ eyes will be focused on those lights and anyone, children especially, will be in greater danger than at present.
Traffic usually travels as fast as possible; so if it is possible to travel faster on this section of road, then that is what will happen.
So, along a very small section of road, the speed of traffic is extremely likely to increase at the expense of safety and a thriving business.
