They’re wrecking Middlewich

Northwich Guardian: They’re wrecking Middlewich They’re wrecking Middlewich

I FEEL I have to respond to the letters regarding the Local Plan and development in and around Middlewich.

Stephen Dent is quite correct in saying planners have wrecked Middlewich, March 3, website story.

Developers are still getting what they want.

That is, profit, out of the planning system.

We may not have to suffer the incinerator on our doorstep but we may have to suffer under the extra traffic congestion that will come if the Cheshire Fresh project gets the go ahead.

Again developer led with no thought to the people of Middlewich and Winsford trying to use the already congested A54 to and from the M6.

This project, which goes contrary to most of the local plan policies, will bring thousands of extra traffic movements per day, making the connections to our town even more of a problem.

Jerry Scott says...

There's nothing Cheshire Fresh about about air on Holmes Chapel Road!
Extra traffic will result from the decision to pass Cheshire Fresh at Wednesday's Cheshire West Strategic Planning Meeting last week in a departure from the newly agreed Local Plan. Andrew Ramsell makes some very good points. The existing congestion on Holmes Chapel Road must get worse and the traffic noise and air quality will seriously suffer. We all want to see more jobs and more growth but existing infrastructure must be maintained and enhanced. Our much needed bypass is still on the back burner as is the Middlewich railway station and the future quality of life for our residents.
