I was devastated to read the article regarding The Manor Care Home, Guardian, January 22. Sadly, this coincided with the day my husband died after suffering with Alzheimer’s disease for some 10 years.
For the past five years of that time, my husband received day care and respite care from The Manor, and for the past three years that has been on an almost daily basis.
The care he received was impeccable and I wish to thank all the staff for the wonderful support they gave to both Peter and me.
My husband called The Manor his ‘home from home’, which speaks volumes. All homes have ups and downs and the CQC inspection was a down from which they have now recovered. If anyone is contemplating moving a family member into a care home, I can thoroughly recommend The Manor.
