AS we come to the end of 2013 I’d like to pay tribute to the many hundreds of volunteers who have shown remarkable dedication and commitment to helping thousands of youngsters enjoy the fun, challenge and adventure that comes with being part of Scouting.

Without our adult leaders and helpers, the exciting programme of activities that are run across the county just would not happen.

This year has seen Cheshire once again increase its membership figures with more than 11,000 people actively involved every week.

Many of those had a weekend to remember when Chief Scout Bear Grylls visited the county and stopped off at three locations to a rapturous welcome.

With more adult support we could reduce our waiting lists and enable even more young people to share in the experiences that our members currently enjoy.

If you would like to play a part in helping us grow even further in 2014, when the highlight of our year will be the Chamboree international camp in the summer, then we’d be delighted to welcome you on board.

Just go to cheshirescouts.org.uk to find all the information you need about volunteering with us.
