I am a resident of Hartford and I have written to the Secretary of State, The Right Hon Eric Pickles, to express my disgust at the hypocrisy of the Government in allowing the developments of Hollies Farm and Grange Farm to go ahead in Hartford.

This is despite their rhetoric about caring about green belt land and letting local residents “have a say in what happens to their local community”.

Both David Cameron and Eric Pickles have used this kind of language over the past year, yet allow these developments to take place without any consultation with the residents and making decisions before the neighbourhood plan has even been discussed.

I feel particularly aggrieved about the hypocrisy and the way residents of local communities are treated and my point is that if the Government intends to totally override the wishes of local people then they should come out and say so instead of letting people think they have a say when they really do not.
