ON November 21 at 9.30am I had occasion to report a fallen tree on the road close to the Aqueduct on Nantwich road at Middlewich.
I decided the quickest thing to do was to use the emergency phone sited outside the Middlewich Fire Station - this phone was again not working.
Despite me banging on the door no one appeared to be in the building on this occasion.
I had to use the emergency phone outside the police station in Queen Street, to report this obstruction.
About 18 months ago I found the emergency phone was not working when I tried to report the fire alarm going off at the adjacent Civic Hall, at this time the fire service said it was a temporary fault and had been repaired. Let’s hope should a serious incident occurs the phone has been restored.
