OF course the Round Tower must be rebuilt, there is no reason whatsoever for it not to be.
The car driver’s insurance must pay the costs.
It’s not the council’s problem financially, it’s automatic that it is rebuilt and the costs passed to the driver. The Tower wasn’t doing anything wrong.
It’s been there for hundreds of years without fuss, then its knocked down.
The Tower is part of Cheshire’s heritage, a landmark, we give too much away worth anything because it’s easier to let it rot or fall down.
