Anything but innovative
3:19pm Wednesday 9th October 2013 in Letters
HS2 supporters keep referring to this project as innovation, a step forward or a cutting edge engineering project.
But from what I have heard, it sounds anything but. Cheshire Innovation Consultancy specialise in producing viable engineering solutions to apparently intractable problems. They suggest that instead of sticking to old Victorian tech, as the Government suggests, we should develop a modern frictionless braking system. This new system will allow trains nationally to travel more safely along our current tracks. It will improve safety, travel times and capacity issues nationally and help to produce jobs nationally rather than ‘helping’ those along a narrow strip up and down the country.
I vote for scrapping the old and bringing in the new innovation for the nation!
