THE Northwich Memorial Hall Capture Project, celebrating our memories of the Memorial Hall, should be congratulated on the unseen archive footage of carnival scenes, street scenes and the redevelopment of Northwich in the 1960s.
These have been showing at the Weaver Hall Museum Regalette Cinema and not surprisingly all screening are fully booked.
Great Northwich names of the past, including Town Mayor Cllr Harry Mather are featured and our Ron Carey, Mr Northwich, himself, Watching past images of the old police station being demolished and being replaced by a new concrete magistrates court brought home a summons to all those looking at the current redevelopments in Northwich.
The penalty for buildings that only past 50 years is not fine for our future generations. No offence, but we must have a better job done this time around.
JOHN HULME, Barnton
