Neil Price's Llangollen trip ....

On Saturday I went to Llangollen with my mum and dad, my brother Allen and my mum's Auntie Norah.

Dad drove us in his car, it took quite a while to get there but it was a nice journey, it was lovely and sunny.

When we got there we had a walk around and saw the Abbey, the river and the aqueduct where the canal goes up very high.

I enjoyed the day out and we went for tea at a pub in Llangollen called The Sun. I had burger and chips which was very nice. Everyone was tired when we got home, it was a lovely day out.

Kevin Heath's TV Favourites....

I watch Who Dares Wins on a Saturday night. It's presented by Nick Knowles but they have someone different calling the lottery numbers each week, sometimes Philip Schofield or other people.

I like the way they talk to each other on the show, I like listening to it.

Two teams have to compete - if they get an answer wrong they have to go on the red square, sometimes they have to go in a soundproof pod, so they can't hear what's being said.

They have to guess what's on the lists to try and win £50,000. One week there was a question about John Wayne's real name which was Marion Morrison - I never knew that before but I did know that Jo Columbo's real name is Peter. Ken Barlow's real name is William. Kevin Heath is my real name even though I can do Columbo impressions!

Peter Edwards' Judo Heroes...

I went to Jersey to a sports tournament to take part in lots of different sports last year.

They had two martial arts there, one was judo and one was karate. The judo was best as it has the element of suprise and helps you to disarm your attackers.

A master and some of his pupils from Warrington did a display. One of the pupils had cerebral palsy and was in a wheelchair and he was good at judo so everyone can get involved.

On the last day I joined in with the exercises they did, I really enjoyed it. I'm going to do some research as to what martial arts clubs are around in this area for a report for our newsletter Hot Gossip over the next few weeks.

I was also at Wilf's drop in the week before last when Chris Bebbington's son Mark did a display of an English martial art - boxing. It was really good to watch and we had a go afterwards doing some of the moves - I had gloves on and hit a pad that Chris held up.

I know there's a karate club in Weaverham, maybe we should invite them to the drop in too one day.

And finally... congratulations to Jayne Amphlett from the Old Fire Station who's now a granny! Her daughter Laura had baby Zak on June 1, weighing in at 6lb 13oz, all are doing well.
