I’ve spent a few hours cleaning up the car park gardens at Northwich Train Station.

Lots of encouragement by travellers and passers-by plus a bit of ribbing from jug eared youths on BMX’s!

Just think one day these destructive little mites will be fathers.

One day they’ll be middle aged blokes tutting about young people having no respect. Knowing the downward spiral they’re on, feeling invincible to feeling arthritic!

I can afford an inward smile in the face of their name-calling.

Anyway, 3 weeks of neglect at the station sorted, but my arms were a red raised mass of nettle stings! It was nice to see Tony and Stuart again; they’re doing a grand job with the platforms.

I’m snowed under with commitments, forms and courses. I feel I’m letting people down when I can’t meet deadlines.

The whole bank holiday situation has me in a pickle. I realise I’m stressed so I’m on a mission to prioritise. No mean feat without a boss telling me what to do – I’m project manager, trustee, advisor, gardener, researcher, jobseeker, mother, hausfrau, and student all at once!

I almost feel guilty attending to my own life at times.

It seems the fates conspire against me as the work trials are now in Winsford so that the school holidays do not coincide with ours. I simply cannot afford two weeks worth of childcare so that’s that. Back to square one.

People: do not listen to our Graham, Weavervale MP, when he says the BNP will get in if you vote for AV. If this were true, why are the BNP against it?

I know the BNP are a bunch of knuckleheaded numpties but even they aren’t so defeatist.

Make your own minds up and ignore the party politics and propaganda. They’re all as bad as each other anyway.

My daughter wants to watch the Royal Wedding on TV and has made me buy a Union Jack flag to wave.

I’m not interested in the aristocracy. Kate n Wills seem fine unless you’re a wild animal minding your own business and they’ve got a big gun.

But yeah, I wish them well on their wedding day same as anyone else. But as a jaded single parent, it’s hard to feel romantic and fluffy about it.

Just as the condemned receive their favourite meal, so too William and Kate have the right to a big send off to mark their doom.

But hey, it’s a day off with lots of cake, so who’s complaining? Not I.
