Whitley WI learnt about the art and benefits of traditional Chinese acupuncture at their September meeting. The principle is that if you are suffering from pain it is because the body’s Qi (Chi) has been disturbed. The process involves the insertion of very fine needles into the “channels” which Eastern medicine believe flow around your body, helping your Qi to flow and re-establish a balance between the body’s Yin and Yang.

The summers events concluded with the dedicated bowls team competing for The Adelaide Hough Trophy and was fittingly shared by Ann Tolson and Rosemary Haslam.

There is lots to look forward to in the autumn: the Village Show is imminent ; the first showing of the WI Centenary Bunting, a co-operative project involving all members; the autumn lunch with cookery demonstration at the Chang Noi; a bingo and hot-pot supper and a Halloween-style social evening.

Darts restarts very soon; Culture Club is thriving and there is an outing to see the Jersey Boys in Manchester; the walking group are tackling a part of the Sandstone Trail around Alvanley.

Why not join them when they meet at 7.30 pm in Whitley Village Hall on the first Thursday of the month, you will be very welcome. For further details email patsysharpy@hotmail.com.
