MOULTON residents will be paying more in their council tax but seeing more community work for their money, according to parish councillors.

Moulton Parish Council agreed its budget and precept at its December meeting.

The total precept for the village is £30,750, which is a 3.5 per cent rise from last year’s precept.

The budget for the 2014/15 financial year includes £1,000 for an interpretation panel for the iron age barrow known as the Moulton Mound, £1,000 for a fence in Hillside Lane and £2,000 to take plans for Weaver Road play area forward.

Clr Tony Rigby, parish council chairman, said: “It’s slightly higher because of all the work we’re doing around the community.”

The full Council Tax bill includes a total from Cheshire West and Chester Council, police and fire authorities and the parish council.
