Match pointers
NORTHWICH will be motivated to poop Chester’s title-winning party when the two teams meet at the Exacta Stadium today, Monday.

The hosts need a point to finish first, the reward for which will be a second successive promotion and a place in Blue Square Bet North next season.

They are in form too; nine successive wins is the best sequence of any side in the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division this term, while Neil Young’s men are unbeaten in their past dozen matches.

A 2-1 win at Stocksbridge on Saturday helped them to better Vics’ previous season best of 11 games without defeat.

Wes Baynes (ankle) and Chris Simm (stomach) were injured at Bracken Moor, while Christian Smith (calf) has sat out the past couple of matches too.

Michael Wilde is back after a ban though.

Visitors Northwich have won six of their past seven league encounters, leaving them four points better off than third-placed Bradford Park Avenue.

They made safe a play-offs place on Saturday too – despite not kicking a ball – after Hednesford failed to beat Kendal.

Co-managers Martin Foyle and Alan Wright may gamble on Graeme Law at right back with John Disney set to miss the next three games through suspension.

His understudy has not started a league game since September.

A bigger blow is the likely absence through injury of top scorer Wayne Riley (knee) and Lewis Short (groin), while Chris Budrys is a doubt too.

Attacker Jordan Johnson, unavailable for Thursday’s 3-1 win against strugglers Mickleover, pushes Ryan Wade and Nathan Woolfe for a starting place.
