Match Pointers
NORTHWICH hope to strengthen their hold on second spot in the Premier Division when Cheshire neighbours Nantwich visit Macclesfield tomorrow, Saturday.

By a quirk of the fixture list, it marks their first home league match since the last ever match played at the Victoria Stadium against Marine in January.

Vics have not won as hosts since December 17, a 2-1 win against FC United of Manchester.

Management team Martin Foyle and Alan Wright are likely to recall Chris Budrys, now recovered from a thigh injury, in attack but Jordan Johnson (groin) continues to convalesce.

Visitors Nantwich have beaten Northwich twice already this season, only losing to Vics in their past five meetings in a Cheshire FA Senior Cup tie.

However Jimmy Quinn’s men have toiled on the road this term, winning only once away from the Weaver Stadium since September.

Former Northwich midfielder Chris Flynn (hamstring) has not played for a month, but loan pair Caspar Hughes and Andy White are likely to return after sitting out the Dabbers’ midweek win at Moss Rose in the Cheshire FA Senior Cup.
