Match Pointers
NORTHWICH Victoria hope to close in on a place in the Evo-Stik League Premier Division play-offs places by beating Mickleover Sports.

Last week’s win at Hucknall Town, Vics’ first on the road in the league since October 9, put Andy Preece’s men back in contention.

But the Northwich boss faces a selection headache following Tuesday’s bruising Cheshire FA Senior Cup semi final win over Warrington Town.

Steve Woods (groin) is definitely out after limping out of the 2-1 win in the first half, while Nathan Taylor and David Thompson (both ankle) will be given until the latest possible moment to prove their fitness after suffering heavy knocks in the same game.

Matthew Brown (groin) and Brian Summerskill (leg) are certainties to sit out the contest too.

Visitors Mickleover are one of the section’s form teams, picking up more points in their past six league outings than anybody else.

Dick Pratley’s men, who have lost only once since November 13, should be boosted by the return of Liam Walshe after he sat out last weekend’s win at Kendal.

But George Everett-Elliott (hip) is ruled out.
