RICHIE Sutton has made his move to FC Halifax Town a permanent one.
The full back was released by Northwich Victoria yesterday after making just five starts in league and cup since signing from Stafford Rangers in the summer.
He had been on a month-long loan at the Shay.
“Richie will be a fantastic signing,” Halifax manager Jim Vince told the Evening Courier.
“Someone of his quality will be a real asset to the club.”
Sutton, 22, has made six starts as a central defender for the UniBond Division One North league leaders since switching on a temporary basis last month.
He now drops down three tiers into part-time football to hook up with another former Northwich man – FC Halifax Town skipper Danny Meadowcroft.
Vince added: “He was looking to go part-time and we were in the right place at the right time.
“I’m excited he’s decided to come to us rather than go elsewhere.”
Sutton should make his full debut for in tomorrow’s league clash with Radcliffe Borough at the Shay, kick off 3pm.
