Ashcroft picked by league as best boss Ashcroft picked by league as best boss

NORTHWICH Victoria manager Lee Ashcroft has been rewarded for his team’s unbeaten run in January.

The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League named him as the Division One South’s manager of the month yesterday, Friday, after a six-matches sequence without a defeat.

He will receive his prize when Vics host Kidsgrove Athletic at Stafford in a fortnight.

Northwich recorded league wins against Leek Town and Loughborough Dynamo, drawing too with Gresley, to climb back into the table’s top half.

They progressed as well to the Doodson Sport Cup last 16 following victories against league rivals Chasetown and Market Drayton.

Victory at Crewe Alexandra in the Cheshire FA Senior Cup, setting up a quarter finals date with Vauxhall Motors, completed a successful month for the former Kendal boss.

The news of the biggest club in every town and city across the country always dominates the local news sports section. In our case it is Witton Albion FC. Who gives a hoot about a club playing in a different county?
